About MCSN

Musical Copyright Society Nigeria has been committed to ensuring that the value of musical creation is recognized and fairly remunerated — in Nigeria and worldwide.

Who We Are

Protecting Music Creators' Rights

Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN) represents the rights of music creators. We ensure that composers, lyricists, performers, producers, and publishers are remunerated when their works are used in public.

MCSN is the only Collective Management Organization (CMO) approved by the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) to license, monitor, and distribute royalties for Musical Works and Sound Recordings in Nigeria.

We license organisations to play or copy music

Businesses and organisations buy a licence from us to play, perform, copy, record, or make available our music. We then pay royalties to our members and overseas affiliated societies.

We advocate for our members' rights

We promote the importance of music creators' rights to all levels of government, the media, and the wider community.

We represent your music globally

As an MCSN member, you enjoy global representation. We have agreements with organisations around the world — when your music is used abroad, our affiliates collect royalties on your behalf.

Our Mission

To manage effectively the intellectual property rights of our members and affiliates, protect their rights adequately, collect and distribute fees and other economic benefits derivable to them on a regular basis.

Our Vision

To be the leading rights management society in Africa, ensuring the growth of creative enterprise and cooperation and integration across various creative disciplines.

What We Do

Our licences help music creators get paid for their work and provide a straightforward way to legally play and copy music.
